The Law Society of England and Wales’ new strategy in 2015 committed to review the Society’s governance. At its meeting on 18 May 2016 the Law Society Council took a further step in considering proposals for change to ensure Council continues to be representative of a changing profession. The Council discussed a paper from its Governance Review Working Group, which can be viewed here.

Work is now ongoing to develop detailed proposals for change; The Law Society’s Governance Review Working Group will meet next on 9 June and other meetings will be scheduled to follow.
