Global Legal Blockchain Consortium
On Monday 25 February the Law Society hosted a briefing session by the Global Legal Blockchain Consortium (GLBC).
The GLBC is the largest legal industry blockchain consortium in the world, comprised of more than 190 large companies, law firms, software companies, and universities. It promotes the use of blockchain technology for the legal industry and is also developing standards to govern the use of blockchain technology in the business and practice of law.
The session was opened with a speech by Law Society president Christina Blacklaws. This was followd by an update on the activities of the GLBC, its plans for 2019 and demonstrations of new blockchain proofs-of-concept in legal applications.
