We give notice to members that the Annual General Meeting of Tees Valley Law Society will be held on Thursday 1st October 2020 at 5.30pm as a remote AGM meeting by Zoom. Please note that this meeting is being held just outside of the 15-month window specified in the Society’s Constitution. We have been monitoring Government guidance regarding restrictions and social distancing and had hoped to be able to hold the AGM sooner. However, we feel that we cannot delay the AGM any longer. If you have any comments about the timing of the AGM please raise those directly with the President who will be happy to address any concerns.
Please contact us, no later than 21 September 2020, indicating whether or not you are able to attend.
Log in details for the Zoom meeting will be circulated in due course.
We will be presenting long service certificates to any member of the profession who was admitted to the roll 40 years ago and is still practising. Please contact us if you know of a local professional who may meet this criteria.
Immediately following the AGM, TVLS Council would invite you to join us for a quiz. Test your knowledge against the finest legal minds in the Tees Valley!
Due to social distancing we can’t have teams competing in the usual way. Instead we would invite everyone to take part on an individual basis. All you will need is a pen and paper, and access to your e-mail account (to send in your scores). For the purposes of administering the quiz, please confirm when responding regarding your attendance at the AGM whether you will be staying on for the quiz.
The following papers for the meeting can be downloaded:
- Minutes of the AGM held on 20 June 2019
- An agenda for the meeting
- Details of the composition of Council and of vacancies
- Nomination forms
There are vacancies on Council for President, Senior and Junior Vice Presidents, Constituency members and general members. If you would like to put yourself forward for one of the vacancies but are unsure how to go about it, please get in touch.
