In this seminar, Helen Hogben will give a practical review of recent developments in Employment Law. She will discuss issues relating to employment law, with particular focus on the new fee regime. She may also touch on the crossover between professional disciplinary proceedings and employment law.
This seminar will be suitable for practitioners involved in supporting employers with contracts, redundancies and equality issues, as well as for litigators involved in all areas of employment-related work. It will be at a level which will appeal to experienced solicitors, newly qualified and trainees alike, and will cover parts of sections 9 and 13 of the Statement of Legal Knowledge.
Helen was called to the Bar in 2006 after a successful commercial career which has served her well in employment matters. Her clients have included employees and employers in the private sector, trade unions, local authorities and police forces. She has experience in a wide range of employment law matters including unfair and wrongful dismissal, redundancy, TUPE, contract claims including applications for injunctive relief, discrimination because of sex, race, age, disability, religious belief, pregnancy and maternity, gender reassignment and sexual orientation, harassment, whistleblowing, unlawful deduction from wages and holiday pay claims.
